Core Agricultural Application: Red Imported Fire Ant Control
Target Pests: Specifically designed for the control of red imported fire ants (Solenopsis invicta), particularly suitable for areas such as parks, lawns, field edges, non-pastoral zones, industrial areas, and non-cropland.
Mode of Action: After worker ants consume the bait, fipronil is transferred to the queen, larvae, and other colony members via regurgitation, achieving colony-wide eradication rather than merely killing surface-level worker ants.
Efficacy Performance:
Peak efficacy is reached 15 days after application;
30 days after application, the control rate for worker ants reaches 93.39%–100%, and the nest elimination rate reaches 95.84%–100%;
50 days after application, the colony reduction rate can reach 83.33%–100%, significantly outperforming traditional contact-type pesticides.
Application Methods:
Single-nest application: Apply 15–25 grams in a circular pattern around each ant nest, ensuring direct coverage while avoiding the mound;
Area-wide application: Apply uniformly at a rate of 1,000 grams per hectare in high-infestation areas;
Optimal application conditions: Surface temperature 21–32°C; dry, rain-free conditions; best results are achieved when daytime temperatures range from 20–33°C; Apply at night during high temperatures.
Legal Usage Boundaries and Prohibition Risks
Registration Status: In China, fipronil 0.05% bait is registered solely as a public health insecticide (Registration Nos.: WP20150012, WP20150143) and is not approved for use on any agricultural crops.
Explicitly Prohibited Crops: A 2025 notice from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs states that the detection of fipronil residues in vegetables such as yardlong beans is illegal; due to the risks of high residue levels and high toxicity, its use on edible crops is prohibited.
Environmental and Ecological Risks:
Highly toxic to bees, shrimp, crabs, and aquatic organisms; application areas must be kept away from water sources, apiaries, silkworm rearing facilities, and mulberry orchards;
Can kill natural enemies such as spiders and blind beetles, disrupting ecological balance;
Irrigation or rainfall must be avoided within 24 hours of application to prevent runoff and water contamination.
Application Limitations
Not a Broad-Spectrum Crop Insecticide: This formulation is not suitable for common agricultural pests such as aphids, leafhoppers, and lepidopteran larvae; it is designed exclusively for social insects (e.g., red fire ants, termites).
Limited to Non-Edible Environments: Must not be used in orchards, vegetable gardens, grain fields, or other agricultural areas; it is restricted to pest control on non-productive land.
Better Alternatives: For pest control on crops, use crop-specific insecticides registered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (such as imidacloprid or chlorantraniliprole), rather than fipronil baits.

Do not dispose of leftover pesticide or packaging carelessly or flush them into water bodies;
Store in a cool, dry place out of reach of children and pets;
